Ugh! I get so annoyed when I go to clothing stores looking for a cute summer dress or a tank top, and they already have their fall coats on display with the summer stuff on clearance in the back . . . in JULY, maybe this only happens in the cold states. If we lived in Florida, there would be hula hoops year round!

yah, it's not so much NE you should be pissed at but more so the retail industry. summer ends for us in June. it's just the way it is. it makes no sense, but i just bought sweaters for fall this weekend so it definitely works. either that, or i've been trained to shop ahead. in the retail world, it's holiday season right now.
Even if it WERE NOT summer, you can still hula hoop INSIDE. DUH.
If you want to knock everything over, that is.
You have to go to a pound shop. Which would be a dollar store for you. They always have random things, i'm sure you would get one there! I got one in december once, it was see through and had water and pink glitter in it.
I have the opposite hatred. I understand the need for summer clothes, but in Scotland, it rains as much as it is sunny, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to buy a coat. Summer clearance is happening here now, but even though technically its summer, starting next week it will be cold and windy forever. well, till April!

That's just stupid! August IS summer and even if it weren't. SOME people might like to hula hoop in the snow. Why not?!
